Special Support Services

Sometimes attending class, reading the textbook, and attempting the homework is simply not enough for a student to fully learn and understand the material presented. The most important thing to remember when experiencing any academic difficulty or discomfort is: ASK FOR HELP!

Additional Resources

CCV has a variety of student support services that may be formally set up and/or individually tailored:

  • Academic advisors in each CCV location are available when you need help and aren’t sure where to turn.
  • If you are a low-income parent seeking a college degree and qualify for and receive public benefits (TANF, Reach Up or welfare), you can access a range of services: a job ready program, one-on-one support and assistance for books, educational fees, transportation, child care, etc. For more information, contact your site office or your Dep't. of Children and Families, Economic Services Division, district office.

Students with Disabilities

Students with disabilities are advised and supported by a coordinator of academic services, who will arrange appropriate accommodations. It is your responsibility to make the College aware of a documented disability and the need for accommodation. To allow reasonable time for arranging services, you should provide documentation four weeks before classes begin.

For more information, see CCV’s Americans with Disabilities policy and Non-discrimination Statement.
