Last Steps When Student F-1 Visa Is Received

As early as possible during the application process, we encourage you to contact a CCV advisor at the location where you want to attend classes. The advisor can give you information about life at our college and what to expect. S/he can also discuss your background, goals, and planning for your program here. Transcripts of your previous academic work may be needed.

When you have received your student visa, you should plan to arrive at CCV at least three weeks before the start of semester classes. This will give you some time to become familiar with your new location, and to complete these final steps:

• Take placement assessments at the local CCV office
• Register for classes
