Who may attend?

All new CCV Burlington students are welcome to attend. New Student Orientation is especially helpful for anyone who is attending college for the first time as well as those who are feeling nervous about attending school again or just want to meet other students. New Student Orientation is a great way to get ready for the school year and hit the ground running!

So that we can order enough food, we greatly appreciate you taking the time to let us know if you plan to attend. Please RSVP by calling 865-4422 or sending an email to orientation@ccv.edu.

Parking

Any of the parking garages on Cherry Street (the garage connected to the Burlington Town Center shopping mall is closest) are good parking options. It is free for the first two hours and there is a $1.00 charge for each additional 1/2 hour ($10 maximum daily rate). It is also possible to find street parking or metered parking around the site.

Q: Is there a charge for Orientation?
A: No

Q: Do I HAVE to attend?
A: This is up to you. No one will force you to be there, but we really encourage students who are brand new to college to attend.

Q: What if I can’t attend the entire event?
A: Attend as much as your schedule allows. A sample schedule of events is available here.

Q: Is dinner provided?
A: Yes.

Q: Can I bring a guest or friend?
A: Most students attend alone or with other new CCV students. Generally, family members, children, spouses, and other friends do not attend Orientation at CCV.

Q: I can’t attend. Can I still get the information that will be presented at Orientation?
A: CCV has an online version of New Student Orientation for all students. Although you won’t get to meet other new students here, you will have access to a lot of useful information for new students. To access this resource, visit https://blackboard.vsc.edu and log in (instructions available on the front page). Once you’ve logged in, scroll down to the “Student Quick Links” module and click on “CCV 101/Student Orientation”
