CCV Donation Funds

Endowed Funds
A gift to an endowed fund ensures that your donation will continue in perpetuity, as the principal can never be used. Endowed funds are invested funds, and a percentage of the interest earned is used for scholarships or programs, as defined by the original donor. Endowed funds that are eligible for state matching funds are marked with an asterisk*.

Funds and Initiatives

The Annual Fund
Supports CCV as a Growing Organization
The Annual Fund supports the overall work of CCV by providing unrestricted resources for a wide variety of operational needs and projects, as well as new initiatives.

The Founders' Fund for CCV*

The Founders' Fund is a permanent, unrestricted endowment, created to be as flexible as the College is itself in meeting needs and supporting innovations that promote the CCV mission.

Endowment for Teaching and Learning*

This fund fosters CCV’s ability to pilot new approaches to teaching, learning, and student support. Assists CCV staff and faculty in their own professional development in service of the College’s academic goals. Increases resources and supports available to students for their continuing success in and beyond the classroom.

Scholarships

Each semester, CCV students may apply for a variety of scholarship funds that are made available by generous contributions from friends of CCV.

Alumni Scholarship
Scholarship for a CCV Graduate Transferring to 4-Year College
This scholarship is presented to a CCV graduate on the day of graduation and supports the student’s continuation on to a 4-year college. Traditionally this has been supported by CCV alumni who have also made the decision to continue their education.

Endowment for Student Success*
Supports Students with Special Financial Need
This fund is to support deserving students whose chances for realizing success will be strengthened by gifts of aid and whose needs are not met by other sources.

Jennifer Frey Memorial Fund*
Supports Students and Faculty with Special Learning Needs
This endowed scholarship fund is for students or faculty members who have a special learning need or who are pursuing the study of serving those with special needs. This fund was established in memory of Jennifer Frey, a CCV graduate who attended the Montpelier and Morrisville sites, and who overcame great challenges in her pursuit of education. A generous gift from Jennifer’s parents, Lois and Robert Frey, established this fund with the support of many donors.

Leah Kalb Memorial Scholarship*
Encourages Women in Business
Leah Kalb, wife of former CCV president Ken Kalb, was a dynamic businesswoman, and this scholarship was established in her memory. It supports female CCV students who are at least 30 years old who are interested in a career in business.

These student scholarship funds are awarded based on academic excellence.

Student Assistance Fund
Funds to Support Urgent Financial Needs
These funds are distributed to students directly through the CCV sites, with advisors tapping the fund when they meet students with compelling urgent financial needs.

Textbook Assistance Fund
Helps Cover Costs of Textbooks
Students often find the cost of textbooks as the final obstacle to their studies at CCV. To prevent students from dropping out of their classes because they cannot afford textbooks, this fund provides support. It is distributed to students directly through the CCV sites. Buy a book for a student! By donating $75 you can purchase a book for a student, and can specify the site you want your contribution to go to.
