General Education Requirements for the Associate Degree

The purpose of the general education program at CCV is to develop engaged, self-directed, and collaborative learners who demonstrate core competencies, recognize and apply strategies of inquiry, and embrace the challenge, complexity, and wonder of our interconnected world. CCV graduates must be able to demonstrate competence in three general education areas:
Core Competencies
Areas of Inquiry
Integrative Approaches

Included in these areas will be a First Semester Seminar; English Composition; a course on Global Perspectives and Sustainability; and Seminar in Educational Inquiry.

Many programs also require a field education experience in a student's concentration.
