Steps to Applying for Loans

For Returning Students

1. Make sure you have completed the 2009-10 FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
2. Contact your local Financial Aid Counselor to determine your loan amount.

For New Students

1. Make sure you have completed the 2009-10 FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
2. Complete the student loan application of your selected lender. You can choose either from one of the four CCV suggested lenders, or any lender you prefer.
3. Complete Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling.
   *Choose CCV when asked for the school.
   *Print out your confirmation page, as you will need it later.
4. Print and complete Lender Selection Form or go to Web Services in Blackboard under Financial Aid Options and select "Choose Your Stafford Loan Lender".
5. Submit the following to your local Financial Aid office:
   *Lender Selection Form
   *Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling Confirmation Page
6. Contact your local Financial Aid Counselor to determine your loan amount.
