Apply now for 2009-10 Financial Aid


There is no time like the present!

Apply now for grants and loans for the 2009-10 semesters (summer 09, fall 09, and spring 10). Your financial aid must be in place for registration. It is a good idea to complete your financial aid as early as possible - the best time is now!

1. Gather the documents you'll need

  • 2008 federal taxes and W-2's (yours and your parents if you are applying as a dependent student );
  • Statement of 2008 benefits including child support, workmen's compensation and disability income.
  • Your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) PIN number. This serves as your electronic signature for filing the FAFSA and speeds up the application process. If you don't have a PIN, apply for one at www.pin.ed.gov. If you are applying as a dependent student, one of your parents should have a FAFSA PIN number as well.

    Complete the 2009-10 Free Application for Federal Student Aid

    This is the primary application for all types of financial aid, including the federal Pell Grant and student loans.

    3. Complete the 2009-10 CCV Financial Aid Application

    This form provides us with some additional information, including your enrollment plans for the year. Print it off, complete it, and give it to the financial aid counselor at your site.

    4. Vermont resident? Apply for a Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) Grant

    If you are a Vermont resident, apply for the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) Grant. It's fast, it's easy, and could provide you with additional grant funds!

    Not a Vermont resident? Check with your home state higher education agency regarding possible state grant opportunities.

    5. What's next?

    After you have completed these steps, make an appointment to see the financial aid counselor at your site to:

    • answer any questions;
    • discuss your eligibility;
    • and make sure your financial aid is on track for the upcoming semester.
