Apply for Financial Aid for 2012-13

Applying for financial aid isn’t difficult, and we are here to help. Just gather the documents you will need and complete the key forms before registration, and you’ll be good to go. Receiving the funds you need to go to school is worth the effort, and the sooner you get it done, the better!

1. Documents to Gather Before Applying

Having these documents ready before you begin completing the required forms will make the process much easier. In addition, if you have already filed your 2011 federal tax return, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will let you automatically transfer your federal tax return data from the Internal Revenue Service to your FAFSA, making the process much easier.

  • 2011 federal taxes and W-2’s (and your parents' if filing as a dependent student);
  • Statement of 2011 benefits (child support, workmen’s compensation, etc.);
  • Your PIN (and your parents' if filing as a dependent student) to electronically sign your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you don’t have a PIN, go to www.pin.ed.gov to obtain one.

2. Required Forms

  1. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  2. CCV's school code is 011167

    After you SUBMITyour application, print a copy of your application AND the confirmation page.

  3. CCV's financial aid application (PDF).
  4. This form provides us with some additional information, including your enrollment plans for the year. Print it off, complete it, and give it to the financial aid counselor at your academic center.

Anyone applying for financial aid at CCV must file these two documents. After filing, if any additional documentation is needed, we will follow up with you.

Vermont residents can apply for a Vermont Student Assistance Corp. (VSAC) Incentive Grant

Link directly to VSAC from your FAFSA confirmation page, many items on the VSAC Grant application will pre-fill, or go to VSAC.org.

Not a Vermont resident? Check with your home state higher education agency regarding possible state grant opportunities.

3. What's Next?

After you have completed these steps, make an appointment to see the financial aid counselor at your academic center to answer any questions, discuss your eligibility, and make sure your financial aid is on track for the upcoming semester.

The financial aid counselor at your academic center will discuss your eligibility with you. It may be an estimate if we are required to request your tax or other information, but you will have a strong idea of your eligibility for the semesters in which you plan to enroll. Your information, including all additional requested documentation, will be forward to our central office for final awarding.You will receive an official award letter notifying you of your eligibility.
