Transferring to CCV

Transfer students include those who have previously enrolled in college classes and are pursuing a CCV degree or certificate or plan to use financial aid.

Transfer students must have official transcripts of all previous college courses sent to Transcript Clerk, CCV, PO Box 489, Montpelier VT 05601. Upon receipt, we will review them for potential waivers of the Accuplacer assessments and transfer credits. Transcripts are not needed if all courses were completed within the Vermont State Colleges system (Castleton, Johnson, Lyndon, and Vermont Technical College) during or after the summer of 2002.

CCV accepts most credits earned at accredited institutions or gained through the Assessment of Prior Learning program, CLEP or DANTES examinations, CEEB Advanced Placement examinations, and certain vocational programs.

Advisors can answer your questions about how transferred credits may meet your degree program requirements. Please note: to earn an associate degree at CCV, you must successfully complete at least 15 credits here.

Students with International Credit

Credit completed outside of the United States must be evaluated by an external agency before it can be transferred to CCV. Click here for a list of recognized private organizations that evaluate foreign educational credits and degrees for employment, education and other purposes. All charge a fee based on the extent of the education to be evaluated. This list is provided for your general information and may not be all-inclusive. CCV does not endorse any particular service.
