Graduating students,

At this time when you are thinking about life after graduation, one important consideration is health insurance coverage. For many students, graduation is a time when they lose this coverage under their parents’ or the state college policy. The State of Vermont has asked me to pass along to you the following information.

If you plan to reside in Vermont, Green Mountain Care is a family of comprehensive low-cost and free health coverage programs offered by the State of Vermont and its partners. There may be a program for you - even if you get a job right after graduation, you may get assistance from the State to help pay your portion of the premiums. You can reach Green Mountain Care by calling 800-250-8427 or by visiting their web site at www.GreenMountainCare.org. If you will be living elsewhere, you may want to investigate options in your new place of residence.
