Rebecca holds a doctorate in the area of adult learning, faculty development and transformative learning theory and a master's degree in Anthropology. She has a keen interest in working with adult learners and since 1989 has taught for CCV in the fields of anthropology and education. Her interest in teaching has led to teaching in a wide variety of educational formats including traditional classroom-based, online, and experiential-study abroad courses. Over the past several years, she has also conducted research centered on the intersection of pedagogy and the digital learning environment. In the fall of 2004, Rebecca developed a new course, Introduction to Online Teaching. Along with the development of this seminal course, Rebecca has done extensive, nationally recognized research on the transformative learning experiences of faculty who have participated in the Introduction to Online Teaching course. According to her colleague, John Christensen, “Rebecca is a collaborative problem-solver who faces every challenge with courage and confidence and a powerhouse of perfection. Her sense of duty to the College and the task at hand is admirable. When you're working with Rebecca her attitude always is, ‘There's no problem we can't solve or obstacle we can't overcome if we put our heads together and keep working on it.’ And that's Rebecca.”
