Online Learning Workshops (DEV-0120)

Description:

The Online Learning Workshop (OLW) is an orientation to the requirements and expectations for taking a course through the Internet. Questions will be encouraged.

These workshops are held at all CCV locations. A fall schedule of workshops will be posted soon. Space is limited, so register in advance at your local CCV office.

At this free workshop you'll learn:

• How online classes work and what to expect when taking an online class.
• How to use the tools in Blackboard you"ll need to participate in an online class.
• Time management techniques to help you succeed.

The Online Learning Workshop Online

For the web-savvy student CCV also offers an online self-guided version of the Online Learning Workshop. Students will navigate within a mock online course site and view simulations that will orient them to CCV online learning. Only students who are very comfortable with Internet use or who cannot attend a classroom-based Online Learning Workshop should consider the online OLW.

Assistance is available in the week prior to the start of classes when an online discussion forum will be moderated by an instructor, who will respond to student questions and comments.
