Parking and Transportation ServicesRegister for a parking pass
Driving and parkingIf you must drive, please consider purchasing a pass from CCV to park in the Winooski city parking garage. Public parking spaces in the downtown district are limited to one or two hour parking as marked. These spaces will not provide enough time to attend a full CCV class and please be aware that parking in these spaces (whether on the street or at the public level of the city’s parking garage) is strictly enforced. The city will ticket drivers who overextend parking at timed parking spaces. Although there may be parking areas in the vicinity of CCV’s location, these areas are controlled by private owners, not CCV. Please be advised that private owners may tow vehicles at their discretion and at the vehicle owner’s expense. The only parking agreement CCV has in place is with the city of Winooski to use parking spaces leased by CCV for student use. Please respect the parking rules for streets that may be reserved for residential parking only. Fees for parking passes are calculated according to the following schedule:
Students planning to use financial aid funds for parking will need to meet with a financial aid counselor and complete the Tuition and Authorization Agreement Form Students using the payment plan may include the cost of parking as well as tuition and fees. Assuming a student’s parking visit to attend class is approximately 4 hours, these fees work out to be about $1 an hour. Those costs are comparable to the parking garage and parking meter fees structure in downtown Burlington.
Dropping off at CCVRide sharing is a popular, environmentally friendly, and cost effective means of commuting. To ensure your safety, please feel free to use our driveway at the south end of our facility (off Abenaki Way) or the parking lot on the east side of our building (off East Allen Street) to drop off riders. Check out the CCV Ride Board in the student portal at https://portal.ccv.edu. Parking in CCV parking lotsLong term parking in our parking lot off East Allen Street includes three visitor spaces for visitor appointments Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Other parking spaces in this lot are reserved for faculty parking by permit only. All spaces after 5pm are reserved for faculty parking. Long term parking under our carport is reserved for physically challenged students, staff, or faculty displaying approved vehicle placard. This area is available for quick deliveries or drop offs. Public transportationCCTA provides two bus routes to serve Winooski. Both routes run to our front door and include frequent trips through the day and evening. The Essex Junction route (#2) runs every 15 to 30 minutes between Winooski and Fletcher Allen Healthcare and Cherry Street terminal in Burlington. The Winooski/Riverside route (#9) runs hourly during the day between Winooski and Cherry Street via the Old North End of Burlington. CCV will sell 10-ride tickets to students, faculty, and staff at $8 per 10-ride ticket. (Note: There is a 10 ticket limit per semester) This is a 20% savings off the CCTA published price. Bus tickets are sold at CCV in Winooski and are limited based on the number of Winooski credits in which you enroll. CCTA bus route information may be obtained at www.cctaride.org.
BikingAs part of our LEED accreditation goals, CCV installed 28 conventional bike parking rack spaces and nine vertical mount spaces for our constituent needs. The bike racks are located at the south end of the facility (off Abenaki Way), under the carport, so they are protected from inclement weather. |
