Prepare for a Career in Nursing![]() CCV & Vermont Tech PartnershipThrough a partnership with Vermont Technical College, CCV provides a convenient way to earn a certificate in practical nursing from Vermont Tech. The program does not require traveling long distances or relocating and allows flexibility in both attending and completing classes. What Do LPNs Do?Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) work in a variety of settings under the direction of registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, physicians and dentists. They are an integral part of the interdisciplinary health care team. Graduates of approved practical nursing programs may apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN). After licensure, they typically find work in hospitals, nursing homes, and home health settings. How the Program WorksAfter successful completion of four required CCV courses, you may apply to Vermont Tech for the second half of the LPN program, which includes three semesters of course work. Classes are broadcast on Vermont Interactive Television (VIT), and the clinical hours required are completed at regional facilities. In 2009-2010 the Vermont Tech LPN courses will be offered over VIT in Middlebury, Morrisville, Newport, Springfield, St. Albans, Lyndon and the Upper Valley. The program is also offered at the VTC campuses in Williston, Randolph, Bennington and Brattleboro.
