Not only does CCV offer excellent educational opportunities, but it is financially possible for anyone, thanks to the extensive financial aid programs we offer.
Financial aid at CCV comes in the form of grants (gift money), low-interest student loans, or part-time jobs at the many CCV sites. We work with the federal financial aid programs (Pell Grant, Supplemental Grants, Stafford Loans, and Work-Study), state (Vermont Student Assistance Corporation – VSAC), and CCV’s own funds. As you can see, the options are there for you to fund your education at CCV. As you complete the CCV admissions process, you can be working on the financial aid application process as well. Now how do you go about it? The steps are quite easy: 1. Gather the documentation you will need:
• 2004 federal taxes and W-2’s
• Statement of 2004 benefits, including Social Security, child support, or any other untaxed income.
• And, if you own a home, estimated value of your home and its mortgage debt. 2. Go to the CCV website financial aid information. From there:
• Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Be sure to list CCV’s school code (011167) and to make a copy of your application and the confirmation page.
• If you are a Vermont resident, click on “VSAC Programs” and complete the VSAC Grant application.
• Complete the CCV Financial Aid Application.
• Note: Many CCV sites offer group workshops designed to help you complete the financial aid applications; contact your site for dates and times. 3. Make an appointment to meet with the Financial Aid Counselor at your local CCV site. The counselor will be happy to help you with any questions you have about your application and to discuss your eligibility. 1, 2, 3 – and there’s no time like the present to get a jump-start on your CCV admissions and financial aid applications! We can’t wait to see you at CCV!
Note: The steps outlined above are for any student planning on enrolling in one of CCV’s many degree programs. If you plan to first try out a course or two as a non-degree student, VSAC offers a Non-Degree Grant; applications are available at your local CCV site, or by contacting VSAC directly.
